Tristan Thompson To Pay Maralee Nichols $9,500/Month In Child Support
Tristan Thompson may not have a relationship with the son he shares with Maralee Nichols, but he does need to financially support him. Tristan was just ordered to pay nearly $10,000 in child support a month to his former girlfriend.
Maralee filed a paternity suit in December 2021, after Tristan denied he was the father of her baby. The infant was born only weeks later, to the shock of the public (as well as his then-girlfriend Khloe Kardashian) who weren’t aware of Maralee’s pregnancy.
But now the legal case has come to an end and concluded in Maralee’s favor.
According to Entertainment Tonight, a Los Angeles Court awarded Maralee sole custody of the baby boy, Theo. Tristan was also ordered to pay $9,500 in monthly child support. He also agreed to pay some of her legal fees.
Reports say the parents haven’t decided on a custody schedule for the boy, and it will be determined in the future.
Tristan may not be anxious to work out a visitation schedule, given that reports from earlier this year claimed he hadn’t met the child or had any interest in doing so.
“Tristan is very absent from Theo’s life. He hasn’t met Theo nor has he initiated any meetings,” a source told Us Weekly in June. “He doesn’t have any immediate plans to meet his son face to face.”
In addition to Theo, Tristan has three other children. This includes a son, Prince, 5, with his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig as well as a son and daughter with Khloe Kardashian.
Tristan and Khloe shocked fans when it was revealed they were expecting a second child via surrogate months after Maralee’s paternity lawsuit made headlines. A representative for Khloe later revealed the reality star wasn’t aware of Marlaee’s pregnancy when their surrogate conceived.
Their baby boy was born in July, though Tristan and Khloe are not in a relationship at the moment.
It’s unclear how much child support Tristan is paying to Jordan and Khloe, but reports say he’s spending seven figures. In July, The Sun estimate his annual child support payments to be around $1.9 million for his four kids.
The outlet claims he was paying $40,000 a month to both Jordan and Khloe, and Maralee was seeking a similar payment, though she ended up getting less in the end.
