Martin Handford's net worth is estimated to be $20 million. He is a writer and illustrator of children’s books whose wealth has been attributed to his writing career. He is renowned for his success in the classic Where’s Wally? books. The books are known as Where's Waldo in the US and Canada.

As a child, Martin has always had the  interest to draw pictures and he would be seen doing so while other children were out playing games. After graduating from Art College, Martin worked as a freelance illustrator specializing in drawing crowd scenes for clients.

Martin is known to have created the album Magnets cover for The Vapors in 1981. In 1986, Handford came up with an idea of Wally after being asked by his director to draw a character with peculiar features so that his picture of crowds could have a focal point. His Where’s Wally? led Handford to achieve a great success in his writing career. However, in 2007 Handford sold the rights to Where’s Wally? to the Entertainment Rights Group.
